This year I’ve had the opportunity to work with Tom’s of Maine as a Goodness Circle member. It’s a great fit for me, since their ingredients, processing, and even the packaging must meet rigorous standards for being natural, sustainable, and responsible. Tom’s of Maine also gives 10% of its profits back to organizations that support people and the planet. And they never test on animals. That’s my kind of company.
It’s also been neat to get to try their new oral and personal care products as they are released to the marketplace.
Like many people, I wish my teeth were whiter. Being an avid coffee and tea drinker has not been kind to my pearly… pale yellows. Though I am not in any way planning to give up my daily “cuppa Joe” or tea, I do want whiter teeth. Yet in my twenties (before I knew better) I used one too many of those yucky tasting commercial whiteners and it made my teeth extremely sensitive. To this day certain hot or cold food products make me want to jump through the ceiling. I worry that teens and young adults don’t realize that they are going to end up with the same type of damage later on if they aren’t careful.
My teenage son, too, has teeth that look mildly stained for a kid of his age, and he is fairly concerned about it. (After all, what teenager doesn’t spend time scrutinizing his or her appearance?) When he was a toddler he was ill with a rare disease, and put on a restricted diet that consisted only of a nutrient filled, very potent, drink, rice and applesauce. My husband and I predicted even back then that the acidity in his nutrient drink was going to discolor his teeth. Needless to say, we were thrilled when he was able to start on regular food again, for many reasons. Yet given my experience with my own teeth, I don’t want him using whitening pens or strips. If he’s going to try to whiten his teeth, I want him to do it naturally.
Fortunately, Tom’s of Maine’s new Luminous White™ whiteningtoothpaste is made from 100% naturally derived ingredients and uses clinically proven whitening technology to naturally whiten teeth in two weeks (with regular brushing, of course) by removing surface stains. It is made from biodegradable ingredients, mineral-derived ingredients and water. It is safe on enamel too.
Luminous White whitening toothpaste comes in Clean Mint or Spearmint flavor to help make breath fresh and mouths clean. The folks at Tom’s of Maine recently sent product for us to try. I can’t wait to see what two weeks of use will bring! Now, my son and I can both rediscover our pearly whites naturally.
Disclosure: As a Tom’s of Maine brand ambassador, I often have the opportunity to try their products. This is a sponsored post by Tom’s of Maine. All opinions are my own.
