Want to know what a health coach eats on the go? While the opinions and ideas expressed here are purely my own, this blog post is part of a paid program with Megan Media and Health Warrior. Follow #HealthWarriorWay for more information.
Eating on the go is a reality for most of us. Simply put, we’re busy. Cooking or preparing and sitting down for three square meals each day is highly unlikely in today’s hectic world. Often we just need a snack to tide us over as we hustle from one place to the next.
Yet in the past I’ve had difficulty finding a healthy snack that is portable, low in sugar, filling and gluten-free. And believe me, I’ve spent plenty of time reading labels in the aisles of supermarkets and health food stores! Then I discovered Health Warrior Chia Bars, and now I’m glad to be working with the brand to let others in on my not-so-secret snack.
In addition to wanting a bar for when I’m on the go, I’m also one of those people who absolutely cannot fall asleep if my belly is growling. My body will not let it happen no matter how hard I try. Yet I don’t want to fill it with empty calories, which is tempting for someone who is wide-eyed and frustrated at 2:30 in the morning. So not only do I keep these bars in my purse and gym bag, now I keep them in my night table too.
What a Health Coach Eats On the Go
Health Warrior Chia Bars are a 100-calorie snack made with superfood ingredients and have only 4-5 grams of sugar (depending on your flavor preference). Did I mention that they are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and GMO-free too? That’s not too shabby!
Frankly, at first I was hesitant to try them because they are kind of small. It didn’t seem like they could be filling enough at that size. However, as the name implies, chia seed is the main ingredient. Chia seeds absorb water and swell up to help keep you full, so the bars don’t need to be big to be filling. They’re also said to be high in omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The bars also contain plant-based protein and contain less sugar than many other snack bars.
Now when life takes over or when I can’t sleep from hunger, I have a low-calorie, low-sugar, gluten-free snack to keep me full while I can keep going and going… and going!
