This time of year can be extra stressful, as we start thinking about how to fund holiday gifts and finish out the year without any more debt. Coupon codes and sites with cash back rewards can come in especially handy now, and frankly, all throughout the year.
Many of us want to find ways to give back but are naturally conflicted between paying our bills, purchasing gifts, and making charitable donations. In truth, there are many ways to pay it forward that don’t have to do with your checkbook.
One of those ways is by signing up with Giving Assistant, a business founded to make your shopping experiences more rewarding and help you save money while having a positive social impact. I just signed up and made my first purchase today!
What is Giving Assistant?
Giving Assistant is a site that gives the highest cash back rewards rates from shopping at your favorites online stores, from beauty, to home goods, to fashion, food, technology, travel, and more. You can keep your cash back rewards or donate it to any of their supported non-profit organizations! It is a free digital loyalty program, with over 1,600 retailers, and an average of 5% cash back reward after each online purchase. GivingAssistant.com provides updated coupon codes for each site, allowing you to get cash back and save on your purchases too!
How does the cash back rewards work?
All of Giving Assistant’s affiliate commission goes to their users. They send out payments four times a year for cash back earned in the previous quarter (anything over $5). Recipients can choose to donate some of their earnings to the charity of their choice. By the ways, member emails are never leased or sold to third parties. It’s free to join, and all methods of payment are 100% fee-free. You can even combine cash back with coupon codes to save even more!
There was a purchase from Groupon that I had wanted to make, so when I signed up for Giving Assistant today I clicked straight through the site to Groupon. Then I used a 20% off coupon code for Groupon on my purchase. Not only did I save $43.80 on my purchase, but I also earned $13.14 in cash back rewards from Giving Assistant. That’s quite a savings! So many of my favorite stores are there, including Amazon, Nordstrom, Etsy, eBay, and many others. They even have a link to TOMS, meaning that your purchases will give even more!
AND… my purchase also resulted in a meal donated to a family in need. For every qualifying purchase, Giving Assistant donates one meal to a family through Feeding America.
Giving Assistant even has a referral program! Everyone you refer gets $5 cash for signing up. You can obtain your unique referral URL and access your real time stats on your account page. You’ll get paid 60 days after your referrals sign up and earn cash back.
Not all stores listed on Giving Assistant participate in the cash back program. However, they may still provide coupon codes and promos so you can save money on your purchases.
As the site grows it has the potential to transform the shopping habits of millions of people into charitable action. Just imagine the collective social impact we could make!
So consider signing up for Giving Assistant and make the holidays less stressful this year, perhaps for yourself and someone in need.
Disclosure: I recently joined Giving Assistant as a paid partner. There are affiliate links in this post.
