There is an inspiring quote by Oprah Winfrey, who said to, “Surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher.”
Take a moment to look at your own circle. Have you ever thought about what are the commonalities among the people whom who admire, or with whom you choose to surround yourself? Are they inspiring people? Do they lift you higher?
For me, the answer is simple. The people I admire are those who live life to the fullest. They are the inspiring people who surpass boundaries. They are the ones who always find a way, and encourage others to do the same. They are the ones with whom I try to surround myself, or at the very least, admire from afar.
The friend executed a round-off back handspring at the age of 42 when receiving her first-degree black belt. (She’s working on her third-degree belt now, by the way.) The one who knew from childhood that he was on the path to success, and let nothing stop him from getting there. The guy who started running in his mid thirties that is now an accomplished marathoner – and even wrote a book about his experience. The woman who picked up her family and moved to a new home because her son was being relentlessly bullied at school. The one who turned a lifelong hobby into a thriving business. The couple who made the difficult decision to separate, because life is too short to be anything but happy. Or the ones who haven’t let their son’s physical disability prevent him (or his other children) from doing anything.
Those are the people whom I admire. They are the people who choose to live unlimited.
Growing up with a sibling who was wheelchair bound, even as a little girl I understood the barriers created by physical limitations, and became inspired by people who overcome them. The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) recently kicked off a campaign about transforming our perceived limits into unlimited possibilities. It is about living life to the fullest, and inspiring everyone to view each day as an opportunity to overcome challenges, doubts, and obstacles. The campaign is inspired by the strength and courage of MDA families who do remarkable things every day despite the physical limits that diseases such as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and ALS often create.
The MDA has developed a partnership with Endorphin Warrior, a company that creates inspiring products to help you live stronger in body and mind. The folks at Endorphin Warrior have created a very cool limited edition Live Unlimited bracelet. They are stylish, inspirational, and can be worn by everyone. The bracelets are available in brown or black and can be ordered according to your (or your recipient’s) wrist size. Let your bracelet remind you that, “no matter what limits life may bring, you have the inner strength to defy them.”
The Live Unlimited bracelets cost $22, and $6 of each sale during the campaign will go directly to MDA. Get one for yourself as a reminder that you are here to live life to the fullest, or get one for a friend or relative who inspires you with their actions.
From the moment I was born, I have been surrounded by inspiring people. They succeeded in life despite facing some of its truly most challenging obstacles. Perhaps that is why the people whom I admire most today are those who choose to live unlimited. They are the ones who see obstacles merely as stepping-stones.
Remember that inspiring quote by Oprah Winfrey? How do you choose to live unlimited? Who surrounds you that lifts you higher?

Disclosure: For sharing this information with you, I received a Live Unlimited bracelet for myself, and one to give to someone who inspires me. I wrote it in honor of an inspiring boy who is living unlimited, while also living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I hope that you will choose to live unlimited too.
