Pantone may have decided that the color of the year is Marsala, but I am officially declaring that the color of the year, for this year and every year, should be green.
Or clear, even though that is not really a color. Hang on. Let me explain.
Recently I published a post with 101 ways to go more green this year, to make your world (and the rest of ours) more environmentally-friendly. It really isn’t that difficult. Small changes can add up to make a huge difference.
Had I known sooner about Strawesome, there would have been 102 ways to go green in the post. If you use straws a lot, either at home or while dining out, just think about how many plastic straws you throw in to a landfill every year.
In my home we consume tons and tons (and tons) of smoothies. My boys prefer to drink them from straws but I hate when they do because of the toxins and the environmental hazard. Now we have a solution that benefits all of us. Strawesome even has a line of wider straws for thicker drinks such as our smoothies.
Strawesome is a family-owned and operated green company has made a commitment to the environment and to better health by selling safe and reusable glass drinking straws. Their straws are all hand-made in Michigan, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and have a lifetime guarantee. The company also offers FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $49.
Personally, I am LOVING the idea of these for gift giving!
By using glass straws, not only are you helping the environment, but you are also limiting the toxins on the straws that you are consuming when you drink from them. No more BPA. No more phthalates. Glass drinking straws are an easy way to lower your exposure to toxins from plastics because they are toxin-free.
And here’s one more benefit. Essential oil lovers will know that the purest oils should only be consumed in glass because the oils are potent enough to damage plastic, which could potentially get into your system. So essential oil users put a few drops of oil in our water in our glasses and glass water bottles. However, many experts believe that people consume more water when drinking with straws, and others just simply prefer to consume water and other drinks that way. Well, now we have the options to sip our essential oils using straws. Woot!
