Last night I had the good fortune to attend an event hosted by Balance Bar Company to announce their new initiative, The Balance Project. With that, we had the opportunity check out the new items from Balance Bar and to work out with Gabby Reece, beach volleyball great, fitness role model, super entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three, who is clearly the perfect spokesperson for The Balance Project.
Balance is a concept that varies for each of us, since we all lead unique, fluid lives and come from different perspectives. The term “balance” was a hot button topic recently, particularly with reference to the “mommy wars,” but the debate left little to be desired since there was not much out there that shared exactly how people are finding balance. While virtually everyone can agree that balance is important, most people agree that it is difficult to achieve. In a recent survey, just 14% of people said that they are always balanced. While that numbers is way too low, in my opinion, it does show that there must be a away to achieve balance, right?
The best way to achieve balance is to make it a priority. So, The Balance Project is a newly developed program to help improve Americans’ do just that, improve their levels of balance. The most common ways Americans try to achieve balance is by keeping their finances in order and through activities that improve health. Getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and exercising regularly are all contributing factors to achieving balance.
Eating healthy foods and exercising regularly are also, of course, a priority for Gabby Reece. She introduced us to her self-developed workout program called High X, which will be arriving in gyms across the country shortly. It was a blast. Literally! There were eight stations. (Though she said often the number of stations will increase based on the size of the class.) At each station we did one exercise for 30 seconds, then moved to a second exercise. We repeated this for three minutes, and then moved on to the next station. It was quick, fun, intense, and a fantastic workout.
We also got to sample the recently released Bare bars from Balance Bar. They come in three flavors and are all gluten-free and non-GMO. (After my own heart!) They are soy free too. This spring, Balance Bar is also releasing a fun product called Balance Bites. They are a great snack treat that is also gluten-free and non-GMO. You’re going to love them!
Thanks the Balance Bar Company for having me! (I just wish my photos had come out better.) For more information about The Balance Project, visit project.balance.com.
