What would it take to make you live a more sustainable lifestyle? What would convince you that we need to focus more on the little things that can help save the planet for future generations?
This week Unilever announced the launch of Project Sunlight, an initiative designed to motivate people to live more sustainable lifestyles. The goal of Project Sunlight is to show the possibilities of a world where everyone lives well and within the natural limits of the planet via a short film which can be seen at www.youtube.com/ulprojectsunlight.
Their website, www.projectsunlight.com invites consumers to get involved in doing small things which help their own families, others around the world and the planet as a growing community of people who want to make the world a better place for our children, and for their children. After all, it seems that children are key to motivating adults to want to adopt more sustainable lifestyles and a powerful influence on parents changing their behavior.
To mark the launch of Project Sunlight, Unilever will be helping 2 million children through its ongoing partnerships, providing school meals through the World Food Programme; supporting Save the Children to provide clean, safe drinking water; and improved hygiene through UNICEF.
Is sustainability important in the way you live now? If not, what would it take for you to make a change? And here’s one more. Would you be more loyal to a brand who is making a more concerted effort to be environmentally-friendly and encourage others to do the same? I would love to hear your thoughts!
