Before you run out to purchase a new iPhone on Friday, consider this. Cell Phones for Soldiers is an incredible organization that accepts donations of gently-used cell phones, along with monetary donations, to support its programs for troops and veterans.
Since 2004, Cell Phones for Soldiers has provided troops with 192 million minutes of free talk time and distributed more than 2.7 million international calling cards. This year alone, they have distributed more than 11 million minutes of free talk time and more than 185,000 calling cards. We featured Cell Phones for Soldiers previously in the post 20 Acts of Kindness that Support the Military.
This week they launched a new iPhone Buyback program in which you can sell your current iPhone to them and either keep the funds or donate up to 100% of the phone’s value to the organization. Each person who donates their funds to Cell Phones for Soldiers will receive a tax deductible receipt.
If you are interested, you can access the iPhone buyback program and view the list of estimated values of your iPhone at http://cellphonesforsoldiers.com. Once the consumer provides basic contact information online, a prepaid envelope will be shipped to you immediately.
