Tania Reuben is the brains behind PureNaturalDiva.com, and I am so happy to call her my friend. An expert on all things natural for many years, Tania simply could not find a pleasing synthetic-free fragrance to wear. Frustrated by the choices of truly botanical fragrances on the market (or a lack thereof), for years she would blend together essential oils to make her own all-natural fragrance.
How could there not be a fragrance line available for people looking for a natural perfume, for those with allergies to perfumes or for those with asthma?
Several years ago my brother-in-law, who had no known allergies, suffered a severe allergic reaction after being sprayed by a fragrance while walking through a department store. It turns out that the synthetic ingredients used in most fragrances are only tested for their effects on skin without taking into account potential respiratory, neurological or systemic effects.
Most conventional perfumes contain Diethyl phthalates, a known environmental toxin and suspected hormone disrupter. As a parent of a child with asthma I have always been particularly careful about putting on perfume while my son is out of the room and not spraying it on my neck. Clinical Studies have actually found that workers in the perfume industry are among the groups with the highest rates of occupational asthma. Knowing what I know now as a parent, I sometimes wonder about moms of newborns who put on a fragrance moments before their baby snuggles up in their arms.
Tania decided to take matters into her own hands and created a line of Pure Natural Diva botanical perfumes. This new line of 100% all-natural botanical perfumes is made without any synthetic ingredients or phthalates. There are fragrance choices available, each one designed with its own notes and personality: Pure, Natural, Diva and Elixir. My personal favorite is Elixir. As someone who likes a lighter fragrance that does not overwhelm, I will say that the botanicals fade really nicely into the skin.
You can read more about the fragrances at http://pndbotanicals.com, where you can even order testers to make sure you love the fragrance you choose. You can also become a Diva VIP to receive free shipping on all orders over $50, members-only benefits and exclusive access to preview new products.
This new line of organic perfumes has been rapidly gaining support in the beauty industry, having already been featured in Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) and Fragrantica.com with an upcoming feature in Beauty Inc. So, which one are you? Are you pure, natural or diva?
