Buy One, Give One: The Karlie Kloss Collection from Warby Parker

The Karlie Kloss Collection at Warby ParkerIn my family, perfect eyesight is hard to come by. My husband cannot see more than two feet in front of him when he is not wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses. We sometimes joke that the best trick you could play on him would be to hide his glasses. In truth however, access to eyeglasses is no joke. Right now there are approximately one billion people don’t have access to affordable eyeglasses.

Fortunately, the folks at Warby Parker are trying to change that.

It has been found that eyeglasses can increase one’s income by 20%. It can enable students to see a blackboard. It can offer dignity to those with poor eyesight.

For every pair of Warby Parker frames purchased, a pair is distributed to someone in need through an organization that makes eye glasses affordable to people around the world who are in need of them. This is their Buy One, Give One model.

In case you haven’t heard of Warby Parker yet, let me tell you a little more. They are a certified B Corporation, meaning that they are certified by a third party nonprofit to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Warby Parker is one of the only carbon-neutral eyewear brands in the world. The company works hard to reduce their environmental impact. In fact, they have figured out the impact of creating each pair of frames, and they purchase carbon to offset that deficit.

While they are sold in a few stores across the country, they have also developed a unique online purchasing strategy. You choose up to five frames from their selection that you would like to try on. They ship it to you for free. You can purchase and keep whichever pair(s) you choose, and return the rest for free. All you have to do is select which pairs you would like to try on in the comfort of your home.

Right now, Warby Parker’s new Karlie Kloss Collection is flying off shelves. This collection of sunglasses is ultra-strong yet made from lightweight Japanese titanium. They come in three new shapes, and each new shape is available in two colors. This is a limited edition collection and each pair is only $145 each. And if you aren’t convinced yet, let us appeal to your charitable side – proceeds from this collection will benefit the Edible Schoolyard, an organization that works with low-income schools in NYC. And as always, for every pair sold, a pair of eyeglasses will be distributed to someone in need.

Check out these fun new shapes and see for yourselves why people are flocking to WarbyParker.com. With all the good that they are doing, why wouldn’t you check them out?
