Every 9 seconds in this country a woman is assaulted or beaten. In the state of Pennsylvania alone, more than 140 residents lost their lives to domestic violence in 2012. That is 140 too many from just one state. If we multiply that by 50 states there are 7000 lives gone too soon from domestic violence.
Verizon Wireless and the Philadelphia Eagles are partnering to raise awareness through a campaign called Pass Along Hope. You can help by simply tweeting a message of hope for victims and survivors of domestic violence using the hashtag #EaglesVZWHope. Every time the hashtag is used during the month of April, Verizon Wireless will contribute $1, up to $15,000, to the Pass Along Hope campaign. Just click on the image below and RT to help:
You can also go directly to the tweet here.
If you live in the region you can also contribute by bringing unused cell phones, batteries and accessories to any regional Verizon Wireless store. They will be donated to the HopeLine program, which provides lifelines to victims of domestic violence.
You don’t have to be an Eagles fan or a Verizon Wireless customer to help – anyone can make a difference.
