Anyone a Beatles fan? John Lennon once sang about a vision of a world with no hunger. (That song is in your head now, isn’t it?) Sadly, today there are 1.4 billion people living below the poverty line, 820 million undernourished people, and 16,000 children who die from hunger-related causes every day.
So Yoko Ono Lennon is joining forces once again with Hard Rock International and WhyHunger for the IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER effort to fight childhood hunger and poverty through the support of sustainable agriculture education and nutritional feeding programs. Proceeds from the campaign will directly benefit WhyHunger and its efforts to build a movement to end hunger and poverty by supporting sustainable grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.
Now through December 31st, limited-edition merchandise, food drives, an employee ambassador contest and live music events at locations worldwide will benefit grassroots partners that focus on children living in poverty and help teach sustainable farming and entrepreneurial skills for the future. Hard Rock Cafe Bali kicked off the program when chefs prepared 100 nutritious meals 3 days per week for local families in need.
Beginning this past Monday, November 4th, Hard Rock will offer limited-edition IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER merchandise, available exclusively at Rock Shops at Hard Rock Cafe, Hotels and Casino properties around the world and online at www.hardrock.com.
Merchandise includes t-shirts, scarves, antique gold base metal pins and bracelets ranging from $2 to $26. Lennon fans are also encouraged to share their IMAGINE experiences by posting messages, photos and videos via the official social media channels for the 2013 IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER campaign at Facebook.com/HardRock or Twitter.com/HardRock, and hashtag #IMAGINENOHUNGER.
