Strong is What’s Beautiful

DisclosureUnder Armour What's BeautifulIn this world where people are suffering, strong is a woman who endures.  When others are quick to judge and criticize, strong is a woman who empowers.  While the self-doubters are getting in their own way, strong is the woman who chooses her own success.

Strong is beautiful.  And you are stronger than you think.

Welcome to What’s Beautiful, a movement born from a mission to redefine what’s beautiful.

It began when the folks at Under Armour asked women to set epic goals and prove they had what it takes to be the “Face of Under Armour.” When that first competition ended, they realized their mission was just getting started. Over the course of the past year, they have seen some fierce determination and incredible feats of strength.

I am a big fan of the Under Armour brand, for their support our Wounded Warriors, the Head Health Initiative and because they invite everyone, working for the company or not, to submit an idea about new products, technologies or advancements for bettering the athletic experience.

Now Under Armour has started a friendly motivational competition for women.  Whether you want to jog around the block, join a gym, do more pushups than ever before or run your first marathon, everyone is encouraged to join us.  Are you ready to inspire the women around you to work harder than they have before?  Are you ready to unlock your own potential?  Are you ready to be stronger than ever?

Strong is what's beautiful

Then join us.  You can participate as an individual or better yet, join our team.  We will root each other on, support one another and reach our goals together.  Just go to http://bit.ly/ffiwill to sign up.  Once you have signed up, either leave a comment here and we’ll send you a request to join our team or you can search for Phillyfluential and join us there.  A few of us who are scattered around the Greater Philadelphia region created the team but you certainly do not need to reside in the region to be a part of our team.

You can enter your overall goal as well as your accomplishments along the way.  I am a new runner, so my goal is to move up from a beginner to more of an intermediate level runner.  It will be as much of a mental challenge as a physical one.  Though I run alone, having the encouragement and motivation of this group will help me reach that goal.

So let’s get started, shall we?  Join us.  Because strong is what’s beautiful.  And you are stronger than you think.

  1. I love this. I’ve been failing to take care of myself, not eating right, exercise is not even a consideration. I need to get back on track, which means planning, which is what I stink at. But thank you for this reminder.

  2. This post resonates so much because of my daughter. She may not be physically strong, but boy, is she strong in other ways thanks to what she went through. Here’s to being strong together!

    • It’s interesting, Carrie. My son didn’t realize how mentally strong he is (because of his own medical issues) until he became physically strong too. Then both seemed to fall into place. You’re so right – it is the strong who endure.

  3. This sounds really awesome and encouraging. I just had twins and have recently joined a gym to get fit and to lose weight!

  4. Hmm…I’ve been thinking about seeing if some of my readers would like to engage in something like this with me as I start back running again.

  5. I need to encourage myself – and my family- to get back in shape. It’s easy to let it slip by!

  6. I’m addicted to under armour clothing and I love what they’re doing. So awesome.

  7. I’m not into the running or jogging thing, but I’ll be supporting you from the sidelines!

  8. This is really positive! Good luck to Team Philly in meeting and exceeding your goals. :)

  9. Hi Jessica, I just signed up. I would like to be a part of the team, so please e-mail me the invite. This is perfect timing! I had just decided that I am going “to” exercise, not “try to” exercise.

  10. Very inspiring. You know that I’m a fan of brands that help others and Under Armour is now adding to my list.

  11. This sounds like a great motivation to get healthier. I like the idea that strong is what’s beautiful.

  12. Love this campaign and the commitment to looking beyond the surface.
